The Cleveland Orchestra’s Blossom Music Festival season at Blossom Music Center eases into gear with a you-know-it/you-love-it crowd-pleaser: Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9. Its stirring vocal choruses will be sung by soprano Tamara Wilson, making her debut with the Cleveland Orchestra, mezzo-soprano Nancy Maultsby, tenot Stuart Skelton and bass-baritone Dashon Burton, along with the Blossom Festival Chorus.
The program opens with Olivier Messaien’s short (less than a half-hour) L’Ascension: 4 méditations symphoniques. Music director Franz Welser-Möst conducts the entire evening.
Tickets are $36-$126.
