Luxe is one of the liveliest restaurants in the lively Gordon Square neighborhood. With its menu of pizzas, small plates and full dinners — all wonderfully prepared but not overpriced — and its late-night hours (until 1pm Sundays-Wednesdays, 11pm Thursdays, midnight Fridays & Saturdays), it’s a great place to stop for dinner before catching a show at Cleveland Public Theatre or the Near West Theatre or for a bite after a 78th Street Studios Third Fridays art walk.
You’ll be very likely to find some entertainment as well, whether a live singer-songwriter, or a DJ such as RA Washington who spins tonight. Washington, who is a writer and poet as well as a musician, owns the Guide to Kulchur bookstore/cultural center across the street and has performed with several different ensembles. He’s got broad and knowledgeable musical tastes that encompass soul, jazz, hip hop and rock, and he will almost certainly pull something out of his bag of tunes that you’ll either fall in love with or groove to, or both.
