Mulberry Creek’s Annual Herb Fair Goes Medieval

As the planting season winds down, Mulberry Creek Herb Farm, the organic family-owned farm in Huron, throws a big party to celebrate herbs, gardening and eating well.

Its annual herb fair always has a unifying theme. Usually it’s a country or region of the world. This year, it’s something different though: they’re doing the popular medieval theme. And herbs, of course, were essentials in that era before modern medicine.

The herb fair will feature a host of vendors of locally made and garden-related products in the meadow and barn, dance and musical performers, jugglers and fire-breathers, and a big food tent. Mitchell’s ice cream will be on hand as usual with a special flavor in keeping with the theme. Cooking and herbalist classes with a medieval twist will be going on all day.

And you can pick up some last-minute herb or vegetable plants to fill in your garden. Admission is $5, which includes a free herb.
