The German Cultural Garden in celebrating 99 years since the idea for the Cleveland Cultural Gardens in Rockefeller Park was conceived. It’s throwing a little party with German food and bands, which is nice enough. But they’ve come up with a distinctive angle. To honor “99” and the cross-cultural relationships the gardens encourage, they’ll release 99 red balloons, a reference to the 1983 anti-war hit by the German band Nena.
It’s free and everyone is welcome.
