By any measure, the 9-year-old girl who calls herself Ella Mozzzarella is an impressive person. Diagnosed with a brain tumor called neurofibromatosis at the age of 5, she’s had hundreds of medical procedures and lost the sight in her left eye.

That would be enough to get anyone down. But Ella has not only undertaken numerous volunteer projects to raise money for neurofibromatosis research, she’s also been writing books for other kids. With her first one, I Sold My Sister, just published, she’s showing her mettle by embarking on an author tour. She’ll be on Coventry Road in Cleveland Heights, signing books at two popular next-door locations, Big Fun and Mac’s Backs. Of course, her books will be for sale and a portion of the proceeds benefits the Children’s Tumor Foundation and Camp Sunshine.
