WadeOvalWednesdays

Wed 6/17 @ 6-9PM

One of Cleveland’s favorite summer evening parties will return when Wade Oval Wednesdays kick off in the space surrounded by the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Cleveland Botanical Garden and the Cleveland Museum of Natural History on Wed 6/17 and running for 11 weeks through 8/26. Each week features a local band, with a different style of music almost every week.

The series kicks off with the annual appearance of Cleveland city councilman Kevin Conwell and his group the Footprints playing Motown, jazz and blues.

On 6/24, rock quartet Welshly Arms will play their contemporary music with a classic rock feel.

Carlos Jones & the P.L.U.S. Band play their regular return show on 7/1, bringing their sunny roots reggae.

On 7/8 Brent Kirby & the Luck will rock out, undoubtedly sharing some music from his new album Patience Worth, out this month.

On 7/15 Karizma plays jazz, soul & R&B, followed by Flame playing country/rock on 7/22.

The Cleveland Bluegrass Orchestra, featuring members of the Cleveland Orchestra playing bluegrass music will share the stage on 7/29 with singers from Great Lakes Light Opera.

Latin and salsa will get people dancing when Son Gitano plays on 8/5.

On 8/12 the Blues Brothers will play blues and rock, followed by That 80s Band on 8/18 playing ’80s covers.

The summer concludes with the Ohio Weather Band on 8/26 playing roots rock.

Food and drink vendors will be stationed around the oval and there’s plenty of room for dancing. The evening concludes at 9pm, except on 7/15 and 8/12 when a movie is shown on a giant outdoor screen following the band. Paddington is the 7/15 movie, with Big Hero 6 on 8/12.
