The Womack Family Band (pictured), Nate Jones and Morgan Mecaskey are three of Cleveland’s most promising artists, each rooted in folk/Americana.
The Norwalk-based Womacks have been around the longest and done the most outside the area. Since releasing their self-titled debut in 2010, the quartet has spent a lot of time on the road, polishing their act, which features Haley Heyman Schaffer’s lead vocals, supported by the harmonies of her brother, bassist Noah Heyman, and her husband multi-instrumentalist Tony Schaffer. Drummer Cory Webb rounds out the ensemble.
Folk-leaning performer Nate Jones draws his inspiration from timeless performers like the Beatles, Paul Simon and James Taylor, whom his earnest, direct vocals often resemble. He put out his debut album in 2011 and has built a solid reputation in the area, performing both with his band and solo.
Morgan Mecaskey is a singer/songwriter/guitarist/pianist who combines the spirit of a confessional songwriter with the energy of a rock & roller. Her confident, biting vocals and intense tunes were showcased on her album Love Less Wild, released at the end of 2014.
The three bands will perform on a stellar triple bill at the Music Box Supper Club. Admission is $10 in advance, $12 at the door.
