Tue 5/26 @ 8PM
Since the beginning of the year, the Rock Hall has been hosting occasional concerts with hot up-and-coming acts in series called the Sonic Sessions. The next such session will feature J. Roddy Walston & the Business, a Baltimore-based quartet originally from Tennessee. The band, which formed in 2002, put out its debut album Hail Mega Boys in 2007, laying down a sound that draws heavily from classic rock and soul.
Their new album, Essential Tremors, continues in a similar vein with sound they describe as both cerebral and physical. There’s a timeless grace to their music that has found them on stage opening to such folk- and blues-based ensembles as the Black Keys and the Lumineers.
The concert takes place on the Rock Hall’s lobby stage. Food & beverages will be available. Be warned: it’s standing room only.
Tickets are only $5.50, and that’s a really good deal because it also includes mission to the Rock Hall’s main exhibition hall downstairs.
