Clevelanders always look forward to a summertime performance by local rock & roll legend Michael Stanley and his current band, the Resonators. While he may not be able to sell out Blossom Music Center multiple times anymore, the way he did in the early ’80s with the Michael Stanley Band, he’s still got a lot of fans who are glad to see him when he plays shows such as the one he’ll do at the Great American Rib Cookout at Jacobs Pavilion and the Nautical Complex.
And he’s still making new music, putting out a steady stream of albums including last year’s The Job, while still playing all the hits people want to hear. His band still (always) includes several old MSB colleagues, drummer Tom Dobeck, keyboard player Bob Pelander and guitarist Dan Powers, along with occasional MSB addition percussionist Rodney Psyka, vocalist Jennifer Lee, guitarist Marc Lee Shannon, bassist Eroc Sosinski and sax player Paul Christensen. Together, they put on a reliably powerful show.
Entertainment is free with the $6 admission to the Rib Cookoff.
