Sun 5/31 @ 3PM
Heights Arts’ current space, larger than its old storefront space, is not just filled to the brim with wonderful local art, it also fronts on a beautiful courtyard. The greenery visible through the windows makes a great backdrop for a concert such as the one it will be hosting by Cleveland contemporary music group Ars Futura.
The ensemble of six outstanding area classical musicians, playing piano, flute, violin, cello, clarinet and percussion, formed in 2013 , and since then, they’ve performed in a variety of venues ranging from museums like the Cleveland Museum of Art and MOCA to clubs like the Bop Stop to private homes. They should have no problem adjusting to the spacious Heights Arts gallery.
Among the music they’ll play with be pieces by Igor Stravinsky, Jennifer Higdon, Lou Harrison, Robert Paterson and Buck McDaniel, winner of MOCA’s 2014 Avant-Garde Idol competition.
The concert is free; donation will be gratefully accepted. Doors open 2:30 p.m.
