Alan Madej & Flannel Response Play Local Indie Rock Showcase @GrogShop

AlanMadej

Wed 6/3 @ 8:30PM

Cleveland indie rocker Alan Madej (pictured) isn’t one of the area’s better-known performers although he’s been around a while. His music is both unforced and energetic drawing on both classic rock and current indie pop strains, mashing them together in one big, noisy sound. And he recently released a new album, Call Me Home, full of beautiful clattering pop/rock on which he plays all the parts.

You can catch him at the Grog Shop with another local act that are not as well known as maybe they should be. Flannel Response could be described as “progressive rock,” if that term hadn’t come to suggest certain strict boundaries of sound. This instrumental trio can be heavy, spacey, jazzy, roots and folksy, sometimes in the course of a single song.

Daniel Huszai rounds out the bill.  Admission is $5.
