Young Bluegrass Band Front Country Plays @CVNPConservancy Happy Days Lodge

FrontCountry

Fri 5/1 @ 8PM

The Bay area’s Front Country are newcomers to the acoustic bluegrass/newgrass scene, which is well stocked with veterans. The six young musicians formed the group in 2011, which is virtually yesterday in bluegrass years. But they’ve made some waves in that short time, winning competitions at the RockyGrass and Telluride festivals in Colorado and playing a raft of major festivals in the last two years, exposing listeners to the original tunes and distinctive arrangements of older ones. They just released their first album Sake of the Sound last September so they’re just at the beginning of what looks like a promising run.

They’ll be performing at Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s Happy Days Lodge. Tickets are $17, $12 for CVNP Conservancy member, $5 for kids 3-12.
