Spring is the season of rediscovery — now you recall where you planted the daffodil bulbs! — so why not discover an old favorite piece of music? Antonio Vivaldi’s early 18th-century crowd-pleaser The Four Seasons certainly fits in that category. And Apollo’s Fire, Cleveland’s baroque orchestra, is certainly no strange to this piece of music.
They’re bringing it out again for their spring program Vivaldi’s Four Seasons Rediscovered. Violinists Olivier Brault, Julie Andrijeski and Joanna Novom, along with the orchestra’s principal cellist René Schiffer, will be featured in solo parts.
The ensemble will perform the program six times in three counties. They’ll be at Fairlawn Lutheran Church Thu 4/16, Fairmount Presbyterian Church Fri 4/17 and Sat 4/25, Rocky River Presbyterian Church Sun 4/19, Morley Hall at Lake Erie College Thu 4/23, and St. Noel Church in Willoughby Hills Sun 4/26.
Former Plain Dealer classical music writer Donald Rosenberg will give a pre-concert talk an hour prior to each concert.
Tickets are $20-$68.
