Space
No matter what you might say about this region, and many have said plenty lately, one thing is for certain: space around here is still relatively available and relatively affordable. That keeps the cost of housing and workspace low, and that keeps our cost of living comfortable. We predict that artists and creatives and entrepreneurs will continue to flock here for that reason; they can work 20 hours a week to pay rent, and spend the rest of their time on their craft.Space will be on the minds of science fiction fans, space geeks and socialites at this week’s Yuri Space Party at GLSC. Good chamber music is all about the venue, and Lyndhurst will be the place for the NEO Youth Chamber Music Competition. The Short. Sweet. Film Fest won’t take up much time or space at The Alex. Kristine Jackson fills the beautiful Akron Civic with her rocking blues, and the Monster Drawing Rally takes over SPACES. Get outside, strap on your basket and Slow Roll CLE. Superstar chef Jonathon Sawyer is busy as can be, but still is giving time and space to Noodle Kids at CPL.

It’s been 100 years since the Cleveland baseball team started naming themselves the Indians, and 68 years since they started using the now-infamous Chief Wahoo mascot. It has now been 24 years that Native American groups have demonstrated and protested, asking the team to abandon the mascot and logo and name.
CoolCleveland spoke with Philip Yenyo, Executive Director of the Ohio chapter of the American Indian Movement and co-chair of The Committee of 500 Years of Dignity and Resistance, and Cleveland City Councilman Zack Reed who spoke out against the use of the symbols at a recent City Council meeting.
A march from W. 25th Street & Detroit Avenue to Progressive Field begins at noon on 2015 Opening Day, Fri 4/10. The room was packed, lunches were eaten and innovation was in the air at OneCommunity’s [R]IoT Internet of Things Regional Summit that happened at the Global Center for Health and Innovation. In honor of the upcoming Rock Hall inductions, the Music Box Supper Club has put together Rock Week: Decade by Decade. Both local performers and touring artists will celebrate a decade a night from the ’50s through the present, with one night devoted to Cleveland hitmakers and another to the music of inductees.
