Are you familiar with PechaKucha yet? It’s an event organized by local people in cities around the world where speakers do PowerPoint presentations consisting of 20 slides shown for 20 seconds each while they talk about an idea, a project, a concept or work they’ve doing they have. Cleveland’s events have been going on for several years at different venues and have introduced attendees to a host of entrepreneurs, artists, nonprofit leaders and others trying to make things happen in town.

This month the program, dubbed “Nourish Cle: Keeping Cleveland’s Food Scene Fresh Powered” will be given over entirely to those working to transform the northeast Ohio food scene all different points in the chain.

The presenters include Joe Eiben from the Greater Cleveland Food Bank; Brandon Chrostowski of EDWINS Restaurant and Leadership Institute which trains returning felons for jobs in food service; Melissa Khoury of Saucisson, an artisan cured meat and sausage business; Ben Bebenroth of Spice Kitchen and Spice Acres Farm; Maggie Fitzpatrick of Refugee Response which trains refugees at the Ohio City Farm; Trevor Clatterbuck, co-founder of Fresh Fork Market; Sheldon Lawrence of the Bridge of Hope Community Center Food Pantry; and Brad Mohr of the Grind2Energy program at the Browns Stadium which turns food waste into energy.

The evening includes a networking period when guests can hang out and meet other people before the program. It takes place at the City Club of Cleveland.
