SweetwaterBigLeg

Sat 4/18 @ 8PM

All you hippies will get what a “Sweetwater 420” party is referring to. So you’ll want to head down to the Kent Stage and join in the ribaldry with Jamestown, New York’s folk/roots jam band Big Leg Emma.

Regulars at festivals all over the east and midwest virtually since they formed in 2001, the five-piece group is fronted by founders Steve Johnson and Charity Nuse. Together the musicians create hip-shaking, can’t-sit-still music somewhat reminiscent of Donna the Buffalo or Rusted Root, both of whom they’ve played with.

At the Kent Stage, they’ll be playing with Cleveland’s Tropidelic, whose reggae/hip-hop/funk/rock fusion is pretty darned danceable as well. They recently released a new album called Police State, so they’ll have new tunes to check out.

Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door.
