Amanda Walther and Sheila Carabine, the two women who comprise Ontario-based folk duo Dala, met in high school, and have been joining their voices ever since. Their acoustic music rests on classic pop and folk sources such as the Beatles, Joni Mitchell, Gordon Lightfoot and Neil Young.
They now have five albums out, starting with 2005’s This Moment Is a Flash. The most recent is 2012’s Best Day, but Walther has a solo children’s album WW Club just out. They’ve been nominated for numerous Canadian Folk Music Awards and won a couple, and have toured Canada extensively. It’s less common to catch the south of the border. But they’ll be at Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s Happy Days Lodge.
Tickets are $17, $12 for CVNP Conservancy members and $5 kids 3-12.
