Fri 4/3 @ 8PM
Clevelanders have always been suckers for big, blazing rock-infused rhythm & blues, from Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes to the J. Geils Band to current Akron band Wesley Bright & the Hi-Lites. If it’s got a punchy horn section so much the better.
So there’s no reason, other than unfamiliarity, why many Clevelanders wouldn’t love the Suffers out of Houston. The ten-piece band (of COURSE they’ve got a horn section) makes big music that helps blast singer Kam Franklin’s equally big voice into the stratosphere.
New as a band — not even four years old — and new to fans outside their home region, the group will be stopping at the Music Box Supper Club for a Cleveland show. Veteran Cleveland blues guitarist/singer Travis “Moonchild” Haddix opens.
Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door.
