If you’ve been hearing about all the great things going on at East Cleveland’s Coit Road Farmers Market, from the weekly cooking demos — free samples! — to all the great new farmers and vendors they’ve brought on board, and you’ve been thinking of checking it out, today is the day!

The nonprofit market holds periodic fundraisers to keep the market running. Today they’re hosting their annual French toast breakfast, featuring Chef Robin Blair. So you can fill your belly before shopping with French toast made with local free-range eggs and topped with butter from a local creamery or northeast Ohio-produced maple syrup, and wash it down with apple cider or fresh-brewed Crooked River Coffee. It’s only $5, and for another buck you can through in some locally produced sausage or bacon.

It’s a great chance to boost a key component of the local food scene while tasting some of the products that are making that scene so up-and-coming.

Breakfast will be served from 9am to noon. The market is open from 8am to 1pm every Saturday.
