Nothing lasts forever. Films are on everyone’s minds this time of year, what with the inaugural Trail Running Film Festival racing through the Capitol Theatre. Heights Arts hosts Impermanence, a fascinating look at the “then” and “now” of Cleveland. Meanwhile, one of our own resident drummers, Alex Sukhoy reacts personally to the AA-winning Whiplash, and for good reason. Put that in your Career Toolbox.

One thing you can count on is healthy and organic food options from Nature’s Bin, and if you haven’t been to their new $5 Fridays, you’re missing the healthiest wine pairings of all time. Lake Erie Ink’s got Comic Con, it’s the Year of the Goat at CPL, and Valerie Mayen bids adieu to her retail store, while her amazing designs live on in the online realm.

And finally, it appears that Mayor Frank “Stonewall” Jackson may also be contemplating his own impermanence, after what may have been his worst week in office. Rest assured, Mansfield Frazier has been on it, and will remain on it, right to the end. –Thomas Mulready
