As the movement to eat healthier and more sustainably has grown and spread, there’s been considerable debate around meat-eating. While some people promote eating meat raised under healthy and humane conditions, others insist it’s just not possible to do so.

One of the latter is author/advocate Harold Brown aka Farmer Brown, who was raised on a cattle farm in Michigan. But then he had a transformation. Through his nonprofit FarmKind, he promotes sustainable family farming, environmental justice, social justice, and a vegan lifestyle.

Brown will be at the Cleveland Heights-University Heights library main branch to present a program called ‘The Humane Myth,” sponsored by the Cleveland Animal Rights Alliance. In it he’ll explore the various systems of raising animals for food and what they really entail.

It’s free and includes vegan snacks.
