Blue Water Orchestra Plays Brahms & Faure at @SIHSBreenCenter

Sat 2/28 @ 7:30PM

For its next program, Cleveland’s Blue Water Chamber Orchestra brings guest conductor Raphael Jiménez, director of orchestras at Oberlin College, to the podium.

He’ll conduct the orchestra in two beautifully melodic mid-late 19th century pieces that draw inspiration from even earlier works. Johannes Brahms’ six-movement Serenade No. 1 in D, which debuted in 1859, took the Mozart serenades as its model. Gabriel Fauré’s Pavane of 1887, adapts a 16th-17th century dance form.

The concert takes place at the Breen Center in Ohio City.

Tickets are $23.
