Mountain Heart has made a name for itself in the folk/roots music/jam band scene since its 1998 debut for its primarily acoustic but high-energy take on music with a strong country/bluegrass heritage.
The group’s undergone some internal and membership changes with co-founding member Barry Abernathy leaving the group to stay closer to home and family, and original member fiddler Jim VanCleve carrying on with vocalist Josh Shilling, guitarist Seth Taylor, multi-instrumentalist Aaron Ramey and bassist/dobro player Jeff Partin.
The new lineup has an album due out this year, the band’s first since 2010. They’ll undoubtedly preview some of the new material, alongside old fan favorites, when they play at Happy Days Lodge at Cuyahoga Valley National Park as part of the conservancy’s Heritage series.
Tickets are $22, $17 for conservancy members and $7.5 for children 3-12.
