OneCommunity, a Cleveland based provider of ultra-high speed broadband, wants to increase the area’s digital capabilities and access to the Internet. They do this by awarding Big Gig Grants, which are used to “increase connections to the completed network through a creation of a community fiber road map.”

Monies from these grants have been awarded to two awesome spots — Lorain County Community College (LCCC) and the West 25th Street Corridor, which seeks to create a fiber network through Ohio City, Tremont, Clark-Fulton, Brooklyn Center and Old Brooklyn.

“The impact of introducing fiber to this burgeoning district cannot be overstated,” according to OneCommunity CEO Lev Gonick. “Hospitals, industry and businesses of all sizes, regardless of their scope will benefit from the network. We are proud to be part of this major leap into the future as outlined by the West 25th Street Corridor Initiative.”
