Legendary Glass Harp Returns @KentStage

GlassHarp1

Sat 1/31 @ 8PM

In the early ’70s Youngstown trio Glass Harp was on every northeast Ohio “band most likely to make it” list.

Sadly, they didn’t. Despite the sizzling instrumentals and soaring three-part harmonies guitarist Phil Keaggy, bassist Dan Pecchio and drummer John Sferra created, and despite the fact that they packed venues in the region for several years as an all-original band, and despite some choice opportunities to tour and showcase around the country, it never quite happened for them. That classical lineup dissolved when Keaggy left in the summer of 1972 to pursue a career in Christian music.

In the late ’90s, following a reunion for an event at the Rock Hall, the group started to play again on an occasional basis and even recorded some new material. Maybe it’s not 1971 anymore but some of that old magic is still there. They don’t play often so don’t miss the chance to hear them at the Kent Stage.

Tickets are $27.50-$48.50. Gold circle tickets include a show poster and Q&A with the band.
