Come Make Your Own Pasta @CoitFarmMarket

Pasta

Sat 1/17 @ 8AM-1PM

Those who were disappointed that the weekly Coit Road Farmers Market was closed Sat 1/10 because it was too cold to truck in the produce should definitely make the trip this Saturday.

Market manager Kevin Scheuring will be hosting another of his food demonstrations, along with the Little Lakewood Pasta Company. And it’s going to be about …. pasta, of course! It will over such pasta types as vegan, paleo, gluten-free egg pasta, stuffed pasta and maybe even extruded pasta. This will be a participatory workshop with plenty of equipment so everybody can try their hand, and samples will be involved. It’s free.

And while the Coit Road Market does demos sporadically throughout the year, Scheuring has announced a full schedule of upcoming demonstrations, all the better to remind you that this market offers locally grown, raised and produced food items on Saturdays throughout the year.

They include:

The care and feeding of Cast Iron Cookware (1/24)

Tamale-making party (1/31)

Bavarian soft pretzels (tentative, 2/14)

Pierogies (2/28)

Smokies (3/14)

French toast fundraiser with local maple syrup (3/28)

Scheuring says, “Future demos for consideration include mole, fritters, barbeque and barbeque rubs. Please feel free to give me ideas so we can keep this rolling through spring.
