Northeast Ohio’s multiple college and university jazz programs give the area a wealth of both experienced and much-travelled and hot young players who often grace the area clubs. Guitarist Dan Wilson is one of the latter. He graduated from Hiram in 2006, got his masters at Youngstown State University in 2009 and now teaches at Tri-C, as do many of the area’s best jazz musicians, in that school’s renowned music program.
He released an album in 2012 called To Whom It May Concern and he fronts his own group which plays at local venues such as the Akron Civic Theatre, where he’ll be doing an intimate cabaret show as part of its Jazz @ the Civic series.
Tickets are $20 or two for $35. So bring a friend.
