Minneapolis trio the Bad Plus is rooted in jazz. But from that base, they explore a variety of other styles. They’ve gathered an audience that otherwise might be that interested in jazz, drawing them in with adventurous renditions of beloved tunes by rock artists like David Bowie, Neil Young, Rush, Pink Floyd, Nirvana and Blondie. Recently, they’re focused more on their own material as they did on their new release, Inevitable Western.
The Bad Plus will perform at the Music Box Supper Club. Noted Cleveland-based sax player Bobby Selvaggio will bring his “Fourtet” to open the show.
Tickets are $25 in advance, $28 at the door.
