You may think you don’t like hip hop, but Brooklyn’s PitchBlak Brass Band is something different.
For one thing, they’re a brass band, ten musicians strong with seven horn players and five MCs among them, providing multiple musical and cultural viewpoints. And they’re about as racially and gender-diverse as it’s possible to imagine a band being which brings a certain openness and generosity to their sound.
The relatively new ensemble released their debut album You See Us in late 2013.They’re not yet familiar to Cleveland audiences but they’ve got deep roots on the east coast where they not only play frequently but also do educational outside programs. The Music Box Supper Club is bringing them out this way, and you SHOULD see them, especially since the show is only $7 and that includes a special cocktail.
