Blue Lunch’s annual Christmas night Latke Party at the Beachland Ballroom offers a place for those of non-Christmas-celebrating faiths to go other than a Chinese restaurant.
The eight-piece band will energize what is typically a kind of down night in the clubs with their big, brassy jump blues/swing/R&B inspired by the music of the ’40s and ’50s. There’ll be a dance floor too, with seating so you can rest your feet between numbers. Columbus bluesman Sean Carney will play an opening set.
And yes, the Beachland will be adding latkes to the menu for the night.
Admission is $12 in advance, $15 at the door.
