The Akron Symphony features one of its own — associate conductor and Akron Youth Symphony musical director Levi Hammer — who will step up to the piano as soloist in Ravel’s Concerto for Piano in G major.
It’s one of four pieces the orchestra, led by music director Christopher Wilkins, will play at E.J. Thomas Hall. They’ll also offer Fauré’s Pavane, plus two pieces by Mozart: his Symphony No. 34 and his soaring Coronation Mass, for which they’ll be joined by the Akron Symphony Chorus.
