If Thanksgiving weekends filled with the craziness of family, shopping and packed bar gigs have got you on edge, and you want to do something mellow and relaxing, we’ve got just the thing for you.

As part of its monthly Music Spot series, Cleveland Heights’ Wine Spot is hosting Cellocentric, a trio of highly trained musicians who play an appealing and not at all ear-splitting mix of classical, jazz, folk, pop and new age music.

The instrumental ensemble started as a project by acoustic guitarist Doug Wood, working with his long time friend and colleague bassist Darren Frate and cellist Tara Hanish, whose other work ranges from a chair in the Akron Symphony to playing with symphonic rockers Seafair.

They released an album called Cellocentric back in January as the Doug Wood Trio — then they became Cellocentric, with each musician shining in turn. And at some of their many shows this year, they’ve brought along other musician friends of theirs to spice things up. So who knows who might show up at the Wine Spot? Regardless, this should be a great evening to enjoy a couple of glasses of wine and some good music. And the show is early too so it’s family friendly (they have non-alcoholic drinks for your kids).

And it’s free. There’s your extra glass of wine,
