The season for all those weekly outdoor farmer’s markets has drawn to a close, along with the peak of the harvest. But some harvest is still coming in, more farmers are extending their growing season, and many area vendors make specialty prepared foods, ranging from smoked meats to flavored popcorn to almond milk. You’ll still find locally made breads, pastries, jams, salsas, meats, cheeses, and winter greens, among other things.

The Coit Road Farmers Market, which has its own dedicated building, is open all year round. While its 10am-1pm Wednesday market only runs through November, you’ll always find the doors open from 8am to 1pm Saturdays, and you may even find market manager Kevin Scheuring cooking something tantalizing in addition to selling his herbs and spices as his business Spicehound.

The North Union Farmers Markets at Shaker Square and Crocker Park have been moving indoors for a winter season for years. They’ll be running their regular Saturday morning markets through 12/20; all the other North Union Markets are done until next spring.

The Downtown Farmers Market has already moved back from its summertime Public Square location back into the 5th Street Arcades. You’ll find them there Fridays from 11am-2pm all winter long. A visit will give you the chance to browse all the new shops that have opens in the arcades in the last year and a half too. And from noon-1pm on the last Friday of the month, chef Parker Bosley, who jumpstarted Cleveland’s local food movement, does cooking demonstrations.

The Tremont Farmers Market has moved out of Lincoln Park into its fall location — Annunciation Greek Church on E. 14th just a block from the park. It’ll be there through its usual hours, 4-7 pm Tuesday, through 11/27.
