Guitarist/singer/songwriter/rocker Chris Allen first impacted the Cleveland music scene with his much-praised ensemble Rosavelt before moving out on his own in the mid ’00s. Since then, Allen has become kind of a moving target around town: he performs acoustic solo dates, he plays with his band the Guilty Hearts, he’s the founder of the holiday band the Ohio City Singers, he plays with the St. Patrick’s Day band The Boys From the County Hell, and he and two other area musicians, guitarist Austin Charaghat (also in OCS) and bassist Tom Prebish (also in OCS and TBFTCH), have a group called Lonesome Stars that holds down alternate Wednesdays at the Harp.
Somehow he found time to write and record a new album, to add to the three he’s released since 2006. Everything Changes But the Rodeo is available on vinyl and CD. He’ll formally mark its release at the Happy Dog in a show with the Guilty Hearts.
