Louis XIV, who reigned over France from 1643 until 1715, was a great patron of the arts, including music and most notably Jean-Baptiste Lully.

Cleveland baroque ensemble Les Délices will focus on one particular aspect of this flourishing era of French baroque music in its next program “Musketeers.” Six musician will recreate the music of the king’s oboe band, Les Mousquetaires, with music by Lully, as well as François-André Danican Philidor, Jacques-Martin Hotteterre and others.

Debra Nagy, Stephen Bard and Kathryn Montoya will perform on baroque oboes and recorders, Michelle Humphries will play percussion, Simon Martyn-Ellis will play guitar and theorbo, and Anna Marsh (pictured) will handle baroque bassoon.

They’ll perform three times, including a family concert on Saturday afternoon, followed by a full evening performance, both at the Bop Stop. On Sunday, they’ll perform at Plymouth Church UCC with a pre-concert lecture by Montoya an hour before the concert starts.

Tickets are $25 in adbvance, $30 at the door. Go to Les Delices’ website to purchase.
