West Side Punks Connect for Three-Show Fest @NowThatsClass

Fri 9/19 @ 7PM

Sat 9/20 @ 1PM

Sat 9/20 @ 6PM

West Side Punks Connect is actually open to east side punks and south side punks as well, and if Cleveland had a north side, it would be open to them too.

The event, now in its third year, brings together a massive pileup of in-your-face bands for three days of music and mayhem at Now That’s Class.

It starts on Friday with a show headlined by Seattle-based hardcore band Iron Lung, and featuring 11 other acts including NTC regulars Party Plates and Mr. California, as well as Slice, Puncture Wound, Metalian, Blood Pressure, Eel, Mongoloid, Cretins, Moron (kind of a theme here, eh?) and Pigsticker. Admission is $10.

Saturday afternoon offers a little chance of pace when the action shifts to Edgewater Park for a free, outdoor show with acoustic bluegrass/old-time act Yankee Peddler.

That’s just a breather for the ferocious evening show, featuring the latest reunion of Chicago’s influential ’90s Latino punk band Los Crudos. That show includes more bands with aggressive names: Peacebreakers, S.H.I.T., MFP, Violent End, Obnox (pictured), Wetbrain, Big Zit, and last but not least, Fuck You Pay Me featuring Cleveland’s legendary punk rocker/wrestling aficionado Tony Erba. Admission is $15.

Things wrap up on Sunday, if you’re still standing with Despise You, Creator-Destroyer, Dirty Work, Grin & Bear It, Udusic, Sperm, State Execution, Hysteria, and Drag Hook. Admission is $10.

If you think you’re up to it, you can snag a weekend pass for $28.
