RIPE! Returns @CBGarden for a Two-Day Fall Festival

Sat 9/20 @ 11-7:30PM

Sun 9/21 @ 11-7:30PM

In a weekend full of harvest festivals, the Cleveland Botanical Garden rolls out the latest edition of its annual RIPE! Fest — two days dedicated to wallowing in the season’s bounty.

There will be food, of course, with local restaurants, farms, breweries, and specialty food producers on hand, with both prepared food to eat there and things to take home like pies, olive oil, and produce and salsa from the Cleveland Botanical Garden’s teen farming program Green Corps. Cooking and gardening workshops will teach you how to raise/process your own; topics include things like making herbal vinegars, cooking with garlic, and vegan cooking.

The event also includes such non-food activities as live local music, a marketplace with items made by local artists and craftspeople, and kids’ activities in the Hershey Garden — educational games and projects, puppet shows, and a “bounce house.”

RIPE! is also a great time to check out the beautiful permanent outdoor gardens while they still have their summer greenery and some flowers are still blooming. You can do that on your own, or as part of a guided tour. Full garden tours are at 2:30 and herb garden tours are offered from noon-2pm.

Admission is $11 for adults, $6 for children, or $6 and $4 if you’re a member.
