PHOTOSTREAM: 78th Street Studios Third Friday Artwalk

Fri 9/19

As summer gives way to fall, activity in area art galleries starts to pick up — and you can bet the crowds at going to grow at the 78th Street Studios monthly Third Friday artwalks. If you haven’t checked out the building’s lower level recently, you’re in for a big surprise. The Hartshorn Gallery and the Byzantine, a store specializing in unusual home furnishing finds, have beautiful new spaces down there, joining the artisans show where local creators show their handmade jewelry, soaps and clothing.

The Kenneth Paul Lesko Gallery opened its fifth annual Cinema show, an exhibition of film-inspired works, which will still be on view next month. Hedge Gallery had the works of Joe Ayala and John W. Carlson on display in “It Figures” and Tregoning & Company continued “The Private Collection of a Gentleman” and “The Male Nude & Sport.”

The next artwalk is October 17.
