Noted Piano/Violin/Cello Trio Opens Cleveland Chamber Music Society’s 65th Season

Tue 9/23 @ 7:30PM

The Cleveland Chamber Music Societyopens its 65th season with some well-seasoned veterans of the international chamber music scene.

The Han-Setzer-Finckel Trio features three players who each have accomplished careers of their own while working extensively together on the chamber music circuit.

In addition to her career as a concert pianist, Wu Han is a noted educator and arts administrator who is currently the artistic co-director of the Chamber Music Society at Lincoln Center. Her husband, cellist David Finckel, was a member of the esteemed Emerson String Quartet for 35 years.  And for decades the two have performed as a popular duo on the chamber music circuit. There the two have often collaborated with violinist Philip Setzer who played with Finckel in the Emerson Quartet (Setzer is still with them).

When they perform in Cleveland at the Playmouth Church in Shaker Heights, the program will include Beethoven’s Trio in G, Shostakovich’s Trio No. 2 in E minor, and Mendelssohn’s Tri in C minor. There’s a pre-concert lecture at 6:30pm.

Tickets are $30.
