She’s really, truly leaving  us.

Last month, singer/guitarist/composer Diana Chittester celebrated the release of her latest CD Find My Way Home here in Cleveland, before reiterating the event in clubs around the region. Now she’s finding her way to Portland, Oregon, where she’s planning to resettle.

Chittester came to Cleveland from western Pennsylvania and hit the scene like a firecracker in 2008 with her rich, mature vocals enhanced by her fluid, complex guitar playing. While folk-based, her music had the kind of drive and risky emotional edge to it found in contemporary folk performers like Ani DiFranco, one of Chittester’s influences. In fact, Find My Way Home was produced by Andrew Gilchrist, noted for dialing up the energy level on performers like DiFranco (his former wife), the Indigo Girls, and Hamell on Trial.

Before she leaves, she’ll perform her last public show in Cleveland (until she tours back this way, that is) at the Fairview Park branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library.

It’s free, but registration is required. Go here to save your seat.
