Guitarist Daryl Stuermer Plays Benefit for Hospice of the Western Reserve

Fri 8/9 @ 8:30PM

British guitarist Daryl Stuermer was a key player on many hits that every radio listener knows.

After playing with noted jazz violinist Jean-Luc Ponty for several years, Stuermer landed a gig as touring guitarist for Genesis when they were at the peak of their arena-packing fame in the late ’70s and early-mid ’80s.

There he impressed singer/drummer Phil Collins, and when Collins launched his wildly successful solo career in the mid ’80s, Stuermer followed. He played guitar on tour and in the studio on every one of those Collins massive hits you love to hate and hate that you love. But don’t ask him what “Sussudio” means — he was just the guitar player on the track!

Stuermer also tours with his own band. He’ll be at the Beachland Ballroom in a benefit concert to support the Hospice of the Western Reserve.

Seated general admission is $50; standing general admission is $35. In addition, there is a meet-and-greet from 6:30-7:30, which includes drinks and hors d’ouevres, a gift bag, and premium seating. That’s $150.
