Sat 2/11 @ 8PM

British guitarist Albert Lee, now 73, has been plugging away at his career for more than half a century, amassing respect, admiration and cool gigs, but not much fame. He came of age in the generation that produced Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck and Jimi Hendrix. But he’s never been a full-time member of a well-known band, although he was a member of the obscure Brit band Head Hands and Feet in the early ’70s. But he’s played with well-known musicians like Emmylou Harris, Bo Diddley, Joe Cocker, the Everly Brothers, Rodney Crowell, Bill Wyman, Earl Scruggs and Clapton.

He’s also got a large catalog of solo records where he gets to show of his country-influenced rock & roll style. The latest, Highwayman, came out in December 2014; it features acoustic versions of classic tunes like the Everlys’ hit “Bye Bye Love,” Buddy Holly’ “Well All Right,” Little Richard’s “Keep A Knockin’” and the Jim Webb title track.

Lee will be appearing at the Kent Stage, a show every guitarist will want to hear. Tickets are $25.
