Coit Road Farmers Market Rolls Out a Full Schedule of Weekly Cooking Demos

Sat 11/11 @ 8AM-1PM

The Coit Road Farmers Market in East Cleveland is Cleveland’s only year-round farmers market with its own dedicated building. It’s also located in one of the region’s poorest cities with all the healthy eating challenges that implies. So it’s always looking for ways to connect people with better food choices affordably.

One of the ways it’s done so is through its cooking demonstrations, taking place during regular market hours of 8am-1pm Saturdays (Usually things start hopping in the kitchen area about 11). And market manager Kevin Scheuring is really ramping up the demo schedule with one almost every week and a schedule planned and announced well in advance.

The packed schedule starts this week, Sat 11/11, with a session on sauerkraut making. Next week Sat 11/18, you’ll learn how to smoke turkey legs. Please note; the market takes a break Sat 11/25, the Saturday after Thankgiving and will be closed. In Decemeber, there are demos on ravioli and pasta dough, paneer, latkes and potato chips, eggnog, and turducken: boning and butchering poultry.

Find a full schedule of demos though March here. They’re free, and tasting is usually involved.
