Come Share a Cup of Eggnog at the Coit Road Market

Sat 12/30 @ 11AM

One of the distinctive drinks of the yuletide season is eggnog. But just because Christmas is over, that doesn’t mean it’s not still a wonderful winter bellywarmer.

Alas, most stores only stock it through the holidays. But you can learn to make your own at the Coit Road Farmers Market’s weekly cooking demonstration. This week, market manager Kevin Scheuring will show market visitors how to whip up this delicious creamy beverage out of a few simple ingredients you can probably buy at the market (You can definitely buy the necessary spices from Scheuring’s own stand, Spicehound). If you make your own, bring it along to share and talk about the many different approaches to making eggnog.

As for spiking it, you’ll have to do that at home — there are kids hanging around the kitchen/demo area at the market! The market is open Saturdays year-round from 8am-1pm. Demos usually start around 11.
