A Fixed Feast

Not to compare Cleveland/Akron to Paris in the ’20’s, but go ahead. Our confluence of art, culture, technology, entrepreneurialism and amenities, not to mention eateries, rathskellers and saloons, is second to none, any day of the week. Especially when you factor in accessibility, affordability and our mild weather.

It’s a literary feast at the Cleveland Inkubator all week long at CPL, and we’ve got the interview to prove it. Local punk rock comfort food entrepreneur Matt Fish is on a roll, opening his 13th Melt location in Avon next. And they’re hiring. The Not Ready for Naptime Players are back at Cain Park, and just in time for the little ones. Cleveland punk/garage duo Archie & the Bunkers are back from a month-long tour in Europe and with a homecoming show at the Euclid Tavern.

Feast on PEZ at Pezmania in Independence, or indulge in a pop-up meal with vegan bakery Poison Berry and vegan soul food business Urban Sweetness. Gorge yourself on vintage knits at the Christmas in July pop-up on Coventry. Binge on literature at the round robin open poetry reading at Kent’s Last Exit Books. Still hungry? See below. –Thomas Mulready
