You know spring is coming when the North Union Farmers Market at Shaker Square moves outdoors for the season. That happens this week when the vendors, farmers and producers return to Shaker Boulevard. Expect to see all your old favorites with maple syrup, dairy products, baked goods, pasture-raised meats, and even some early produce, with more each week.
The market opens with the blessing of the farms and farmers. The highlight of opening day is the annual shearing of the sheep, when the animals are divested of their winter coats while shearer Geoff Baldwin tells stories that entrance the kids. Live music and cooking demos make this a really festive occasion.
