Denis DeVito is well known in northeast Ohio as the leader of popular swamp rock party band Cats on Holiday, who have enlivened scores of major events and festivals across the regions. Coor Standish fronts another local band, Front Porch Lights.
The two are joining forces for a show at the Music Box Supper Club called “Rockin’ the Rust Belt,” where they will put the focus on their songs.
At 8pm,DeVito will perform his songs about blue collar working men — both revamped Cats on Holiday favorites and new tunes — backed by two of the area’s top jazz musicians, pianist Joe Hunter and guitarist Pete Cavano, along with Cats on Holiday’s bassist Dillon DeVito and drummer Toby Packard.
Standish will take the stage at 9:30 to play his favorite tunes in the chronological order of their writing in a storytelling setting, joined by various band members from his past (and present) projects.
Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door.
