The Akron Art Museum’s current exhibit Heavy Metal, on view through Wed 2/28, offers multiple artists’ takes on using metal, or materials with the appearance of metal, in their work, and what that element evokes to them.
The latest in a series of gallery talks by artists in the show will be given by Emily Sullivan Smith, a Kent State University alum and currently an assistant professor of art and design at the University of Dayton. She’ll be talking about her own work, as well as other works in the museum that speak to her. It’s free and open to all.
