Three “Guys With Guitars” Play Acoustic Music at the BOP STOP

Wed 3/7 @ noon

Thu 3/8 @ 8PM

Guitarist Doug Wood and bassist Darren Frate have been playing together since the late 80s, when they were bandmates in jazzy folk-rock group Watts Gnu. They’ve worked together in many other projects since then, most recently in Cellocentric, while doing their own things as well. Last year Wood released a new CD, The Road Home, and of course, Frate plays on it.

Patrick Woods, who is from north central Indiana, specializes in prog rock-influenced instrumental fingerstyle guitar. He’s been performing more than a decade and has released several albums of his music.

Occasionally the threesome comes together to play dates under the name “Guys with Guitars,” where they’ll perform their own compositions along with their interpretations of well-known tunes by the Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel and more.

They’ll perform a short free set on Wed 3/7 @ noon as part of Trinity Cathedral’s Brownbag concerts. If you’re hungry for more, they’ll play a full evening at the BOP Stop on Thu 3/8. Admission is $10.
