The Ben Geyer Trio Debuts a New Album at the BOP STOP

Thu 5/17 @ 7PM

Since releasing his first album The Narrative, jazz pianist Ben Geyer pared down his ensemble from a sextet to a trio for newly released sophomore album The Acadian Orogeny, featuring music he wrote over a stretch of time from 2006 to 2014. He descrribes them as “topographies of sorts… metaphors for my nomadic journey, never living in the same place for more than a few years, always chasing the next thing.”

The New Hampshire native, now living in Georgia, recorded and mixed the music at the Oberlin Conservatory with northeast Ohio musicians drummer Zaire Darden and bassist Peter Dominguez. They’ll be joining him onstage at the BOP STOP when he celebrates the release of the new album.

Tickets are $12.
